    TCHRMA Student Night:

    Roundtable and Comparative Panel Discussion with Military Veterans and Graduating Students

    Participants will learn the differences and similarities of these two groups and how best to translate those similarities into effective HRM strategies.

    Moderated by:

    Jim Wilkerson is a professor in the Charleston Southern University School of Business.  Prior to coming to Charleston, Dr. Wilkerson’s career was divided between academe, entrepreneurship (he owned and operated two businesses in Illinois and one in Atlanta, and has served as an HRM/OD consultant to a variety of firms and nonprofits), and HRM roles ranging from chief HR officer to specialist in for-profit, nonprofit, and military settings, and in Fortune 50 companies as well as small companies.  He earned his Ph.D. in management from the Georgia Institute of Technology, his MBA from the University of Missouri, and his BS in HRM from the University of Alabama.  Dr. Wilkerson is a lifetime-certified SPHR.

    Deanna Cunnane currently works as a consultant for SLS Consulting helping clients define their HR processes. With over 12 years of experience in human resources and project management, Deanna brings creative methods of establishing performance metrics and analyzing critical processes to clients.  Prior to becoming a consultant, she worked for Goldman Sachs in New York for ten years as a VP-Human Resources Business Partner where she supervised an HR team that provided support for over 600 sales employees. Deanna has an MBA in Information Systems and Marketing from the Lubin School of Business at Pace University and a BA in Communications from Seton Hall University.  She is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources through the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI).
