    South Carolina Legislative Updates for the HR Professional

    The work of Human Resources Professionals involve many legislation. The purpose of legislation is to regulate, authorize or restrict. Therefore, this meeting is designed to provide information on current as well as pending legislation as it relates to the function of human resources. The Senator will define these legislations in order to help professionals determine what it means to their work and their organization.

    Speaker: Paul Campbell

    Senator Paul Campbell earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Clemson University and his MBA from Jacksonville University in Alabama. He has served as President and Chairman on many different organizations, including the Summerville Rotary Club, the Berkeley Chamber of Commerce, Trident United Way, Leadership South Carolina, and the Coastal Council of Boy Scouts.

    While chairman of the SC Chamber and the SC Manufactures Alliance, Senator Campbell worked with South Carolina's state government to attract businesses and helped maintain the pro-business, pro-jobs efforts of our state. He realized that by becoming a member of the SC Senate, he would be more effective in his work in economic development, job creation and retention, and offering South Carolinians opportunities to improve their and their families' lives.

    Senator Campbell maintains s consulting business as time allows away from the Senate, helping businesses and manufactures improve current operations by improving efficiencies and effectiveness. He is a noted public speaker on many issues including leadership and manufacturing reliability having keynoted at many conferences. This goes with his being past President of two international professional societies - the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical, and Petroleum Engineers and the Minerals, Metals, and Materials Society.
