    Supporting Employees with Disabilities

     

    This presentation will assist HR professionals to properly support individuals with disabilities. In this session you will learn how functional limitations can be addressed in the workplace and what resources you can provide for those needing additional assistance. During this presentation, speakers will provide hands on demonstration with Assistive Technology.

    Speakers: Todd Batt & Morgan Fancher

           

    Todd was first introduced to the field of Assistive Technology in 1992 shortly after his daughter Julie was born with cerebral palsy. He received his Engineering degree from Clarkson University the following year and has worked as a rehabilitation engineer ever since, the past 16 years of which have been with SC Vocational Rehabilitation. Todd is personally and professionally dedicated to assisting people with disabilities, and very much enjoys coming up with creative solutions to enable people with disabilities to maximize their potential and succeed at all things in life. One of his proudest moments came two years ago when Julie graduated with her Master's Degree in higher education.

    Morgan Fancher, Project Supervisor for the South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department specializes in providing job retention services to individuals and businesses throughout the Tri County area. Morgan has many years of experience acting as a liaison between employees and employers. Examples of job retention services include supportive counseling, onsite evaluations by a rehabilitation engineer, identification of functional limitations within the workplace and recommendations for work area accomodations. Utilization of job retention services assist employers in maintaining good employees. Morgan has an M.Ed. in Guidance Counseling from Clemson University.
