    Opening Session - " HR Career Development"

    Session 1 – “How to win employment lawsuits before they are filed”

    Success in any employment lawsuit depends upon the facts of the case. These facts arise well before any lawsuit is filed and often before the threat of a lawsuit is even a blip on the radar screen. This session will identify facts critical to success in employment lawsuits and review the best practices and decisions that generate them.

    Session 2 – “Engagement is out, Cohesion is in”

    For too long now, organizational leaders have been lulled into thinking that Employee Engagement leads to performance. Dr. Troy will set the record straight that it’s a cohesion culture that leads to performance. His research affirms this newly disruptive conservation with a book topic coming soon in September 2019.

    Session 3 – “ Curse, Cry, & Crack” (The Three C’s)

    The dirty little secret about most management advice is that it’s from people who have never managed or led a team. That’s not how we get the best practical information. This session shares real life stories that reinforce core management and leadership strategies that not only make a big impact, but a lasting one.”

    Session 4 – “ Conflict Management for Leaders”

    Conflict is a natural part of life; however, the way in which we approach it can influence how we experience the resolution process. This workshop explores the dynamics involved in conflict, explores the various approaches to conflict resolution, and will increase personal insight into participant’s own preferences for managing conflict. In addition to exploring the role of a leader in conflict management, participants will also learn that a “one size fits all” approach doesn’t necessarily work along with appropriate strategies for movement toward resolution.

    Session 5 – “LinkedIn for HR Professionals”

    As a human resources leader, is your LinkedIn profile optimized to best represent you and your organization? If not, don’t miss this training taught by Thomas Heath, the Lowcountry’s premier expert on this platform. Thomas will show you the three fundamentals to start with on LinkedIn, as well as tips on how to properly brand yourself and your employer.

    Session 6 – “Shake Up Your Culture… One Shift at a Time”

    It’s time to shake up your culture, your team and your results with actionable tools to move from a culture by default to a culture by design. Everyone talks about wanting to create a culture, but the truth is that every organization already has a culture. The only question is whether it’s a culture by design or a culture by default. Too often, team members are looking up (to leadership) to define the organization’s values and culture, but every team member has the opportunity to design, develop, nurture and sustain the culture (or to kill it)

    Session 7 – “Best Practices for responding to IRS & DOL inquiries and audits”

    The current trends in employee benefits and fiduciary litigation continue to reinforce the adage, “no good deed goes unpunished”. Barry and Susan will share recent developments in the retirement plan, health and welfare plan and executive compensation areas, and will provide practical guidance for avoiding fiduciary violations, avoiding plan document and plan operational errors, and for responding to IRS and DOL inquiries and audits.

    Session 8 – “Implicit Bias”

    What is implicit bias? Where do you begin if you want to include it in your organization’s diversity training? We all see the headlines so we understand the urgency and need for real diversity and inclusion. This presentation will walk you through implicit bias, bias related training, and its effects in the workplace. You WILL leave with tanigble tools to use in your organization.

    Closing Session - " Just One Step.... Personal Empowerment & Inspiration
